Young people are three times more difficult for adults to find employment, shows a study by the International Labor Organization.
The study confirms the increase in levels of unemployment among the younger sector of the population, accounting for 88 million unemployed young people around the world.
Despite young people between 15 and 24 years represent only one quarter of the workforce, are now almost half the 186 million unemployed in the world, representing 47 percent of people without work.
According to Intrenacional Labor Organization, the level of unemployment among the 614 million young people in the workforce reached 14.4 percent, which represents an increase of 2.5 percentage points in the last 10 years. The rates of youth unemployment in the past year were higher in the Middle East and North Africa (25.6 percent), followed by sub-Saharan Africa (21 percent) of the transition economies (18.6 percent) and Américan Latin (16.6 percent). In Southeast Asia the level reached 16.4 percent and in South Asia to 13.9 percent.
That's not a very happy perspective for us teenagers! xD Hopefully it'll change.
